But nothing ever happens to keys, right????
There are two types of spare mechanical keys (do not have a remote button) that I can cut.
Type 1 is with a programable chip inside of key head which will allows you to open your vehicle doors manually and turn the ignition on to start the engine.
Type 2 is a cheaper key with no programable chip, this type of key, also known as a emergency key, will allow you to open the door on the vehicle but will not start the engine, it will also allow you to turn the ignition on so you can realise the steering lock making it easier to move the vehicle if you have no keys to start the engine.
Why did my vehicle lock-my keys inside ?
WHY did my car keys get locked in my car? One answer is if you open your vehicle with your remote and do not actually open the main drivers door, but instead open one of the back or side passengers doors and put your keys down inside and then close the door. It will lock your keys inside. This is because the main drivers door has not been opened after unlocking the vehicle with the remote and the vehicles security thinks it needs to relock its self so now locking keys inside. This is when having a emergency key comes in very handy.
